A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.

The player's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was over.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.

The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
